Camembert is a wonderful French cheese that is a bit stronger then brie in flavor and it melts easily when baked. The honey complements the bolder flavors of the cheese and herbs. Combine this flavorful cheese with French herbs, a drizzle of honey and you have a delight ready in minutes! Bon Appétit!
Ingredients
1 package of camembert cheese about 250 grams which is about 9 oz.
1 teaspoon of Herbs de Provence
A drizzle of honey
1 French baguette
Lavender sprigs for garnish (optional)
Technique
Slice baguette on a diagonal to desired thickness. Place onto a cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until baguette begins to brown. If above baking dish is available the cheese fits perfectly. Carefully slice off the top part of the rind part leaving the bottom rind intact. Place rind side down into a baking dish, forming it into what ever shaped dish you may have. Sprinkle the cheese with Herbs de Provence and generously drizzle with honey. Place in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 7 minutes or until cheese begins to bubble and edges begin to brown. Remove and place onto a serving dish along with the sliced baked baguette. Garnish with sprigs of lavender if using. Bon Appétit!
