This is a not your ordinary soup and salad dinner! Start your dinner party or date night dinner with a decadent appetizer/salad that has a marinated filet along with peppery arugula, move on to an over the top soup that has truffle oil and finish the meal with elegant chocolate covered strawberries! I chose a Merlot if you are only wanting to open one bottle of wine that would pair nicely with the appetizer/salad and the soup. However, if you want to open 2 bottles of wine I would opt to pair the appetizer/salad with an Old Vine Zinfandel and the soup with a Pinot Noir. For a larger group where 3 bottles of wine could be opened a semi-sweet Sparkling wine or Champagne would go very well with the strawberries.
