Steamed broccoli is great, but adding a little flair to our friendly green vegetable gets applauds at the table. Most everyone loves pesto so why not combine the two to see what happens. As it turned out, we loved it and the kids were eating it like some children eat french fries!
Ingredients
1 large bunch of broccoli, rinsed and stalk removed, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoon of olive oil
2 tablespoon of purchased pesto
A sprinkle of kosher salt
Garnish with fresh grated parmesan cheese
Technique
Remove large stalk portion of the broccoli and slice the top portion into small pieces as shown in the picture. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat and sauté broccoli until it begins to brown on some of its sides. Add pesto and salt and sauté for a minute to blend flavors. Remove, garnish with parmesan cheese and serve.
